Version 0.4 Update
Extreme Pilot Training » Devlog

Hi everybody,
I worked on the new update for Extreme Pilot Training for a little bit.
I believe it (hopefully) adds lots of fun and new ways of playing the game.
Changelog:
- Add 2 new Annoyances
- Annoyance modules cannot be completed but the pilot instead needs to interact with them regularly to keep the plane from crashing
- Control Wheel Module
- The pilot needs to pull the control wheel back, otherwise the plane starts to sink faster. After a few seconds the control wheel might start to slowly drift forwards again though...
- Announcements Module
- The passengers feel more comfortable if they hear the pilot make in-flight announcements from time to time. If the pilot fails to do so, they might destroy an engine out of fear.
- The pilot needs to press the 6 buttons (each labelled with one word and possibly punctuation) in the correct order to make a valid announcement.
- Annoyance modules cannot be completed but the pilot instead needs to interact with them regularly to keep the plane from crashing
- Add a digital clock to the cockpit display
- Fix several code warnings and make things a bit more maintainable
- Add page numbers to the manual
- Improve manual formatting
- The old Symbols module has been split up into 2 modules: Symbols and Numbers
- I was not really happy how RNG-heavy the Symbols module was (describing numbers was way easier than describing foreign characters), and I think the calculation stuff made things a bit cumbersome for describing symbols...
- Now there are 2 separate modules:
- The Symbols Module
- Features 4 of 26 different completely new symbols. The symbols only need to be pressed in the order of their values, no need to multiply anything.
- The Numbers Module
- Features the digits 0 to 9, each digit has a different number value, this value needs to be multiplied with its positional factor, and then pressed in order.
- The Symbols Module
- Add the ability for modules to override the camera position (e.g. for the control wheel module)
- The Switches Module now has font sample in the regular font of the selected font family at its side.
- i.e. if it uses the Handwritten font, there's a small label in non-bold, non-italic Handwritten font at it's left side, hopefully this makes it a bit easier to judge whether text is bold or italic.
- Fix a bug where the music track could go out of bounds if user did not restart level or take some other action soon after completing/failing a level
I hope you will enjoy these new changes to the game. Please let me know if you have feedback, or simply if you played the game, I always love to hear that people play the game.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
- Flo
