Spacetime Blueberry v1.1 - Small Quality Update
Trijam is over!
And I am extremely happy and thankful for all the feedback I received! It has been a great experience and felt good to finish a game once in a while again.
Since the rating period is now over and the results have been published, I decided to update my submission and introduce some important changes that didn't make it into the original game because of the 3 hour time limit. I felt that in order to "really finish" the project, I needed to fix these pressing issues.
About the Update 1.1
The new update 1.1 doesn't bring any major changes, it is mostly a quality-of-life update! And the difficulty hasn't changed as well, so your old high score is equally as impressive as a new one is. Nevertheless, the original submission can still be downloaded in case you want to experience the game in its original form.
Changelog
- Music Mute button
- Next to the play button is now a button, which can be used to toggle muting of the ingame music!
- This button does not affect the sound effects of the game.
- The button state is even stored across play sessions.
- Performance improvements
- Asteroids and Blueberries now despawn if far away from the player.
- (In the original version, playing for a long time could lead to game crashes due to insufficient memory.)
- Input normalization
- In the original version, the spaceship speed depended on how many pixels your mouse cursor is away from the center of your screen. This could lead to very sensitive inputs on screens with a high resolution or when playing in fullscreen mode.
- In version 1.1 the input is now normalized, meaning your screen resolution does not matter anymore.
Thank you for playing Spacetime Blueberry, have a great day!
